The 19th Annual Congressional Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency EXPO + Policy Forum brought together 50 businesses, trade associations, and government agencies to showcase renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. In every state across the country, these technologies are having a significant impact in business development and job creation in the manufacturing, transmission, power, transportation, and building sectors.

Panel 8:

Reid Spolek, Manager of Renewable Energy, Amazon Web Services
Representing a major user of renewable energy, Reid Spolek will discuss Amazon Web Services’ long term commitment to achieve 100 percent renewable energy usage for the company’s global infrastructure footprint, and policies at the federal and state level that can help enable the greater availability of renewable energy sources throughout the United States. Reid Spolek will also discuss the positive economic impact that investment in renewables can have for local communities.

Jim Reilly, Senior Vice President of Federal Legislative Affairs, American Wind Energy Association
Jim Reilly will speak on the current state of the wind industry, particularly in light of the five-year federal Production Tax Credit passed by Congress last December; as well as the policy challenges ahead such as transmission expansion and siting challenges.

John Kalish, Chief, Office of Renewable Energy Coordination, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Department of the Interior
John Kalish will discuss the Bureau of Land Management’s contributions to meeting renewable energy goals established in the President’s Climate Action Plan.
