Solidaridad presents the ASÓMBRATE, an initiative that connects small-scale cocoa and coffee farmers with global carbon markets where 80% of the sale of carbon credits goes directly to the producer.
Small-scale farmers are important contributors to climate solutions and they deserve to be compensated for the role they play. Payment for ecosystem services can provide supplemental income, along with implementing agroforestry practices that help them maintain production and adapt to a changing climate.
ASÓMBRATE is a program developed by Solidaridad with the support of Rabobank, Microsoft, Nationale Postcode Loterij, Deutsche Postcode Lotterie, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BZ) of the Netherlands and Fedecacao.
