Carbon Credit score High quality Initiative (CCQI) Scoring Device Release

On Tuesday, May 31, The Carbon Credit Quality Initiative (CCQI) launched a new Scoring Tool that delivers independent, transparent scores on the quality of certain types of carbon credits. Founded by Environmental Defense Fund, World Wildlife Fund (WWF-US) and Oeko-Institut, CCQI is proud to launch its new Scoring Tool! Our new interactive Scoring Tool is a free, user-friendly resource aiming to support companies and individuals identify quality carbon credits which are more likely to deliver true climate mitigation impact, and support positive social and environmental benefits.

Experts from Environmental Defense Fund, WWF, and Oeko-Institut shared a live demo of the new CCQI Scoring Tool and answer questions about how carbon credits are scored using our independent methodology. Our tool aims to enable users to understand carbon credit quality — and therefore enhance the quality of carbon credits in the market overall. Carbon credit buyers, as well as programs and project developers, can each play a role in ensuring carbon credits meet the highest standards and effectively contribute to the goals of the Paris Agreement.
