The minister of mineral resources and energy, Gwede Mantashe, says while the government is fully committed to using renewable energy, the transition to zero carbon emissions has to be done according to the country’s needs and available resources.
Mantashe was speaking in Cape Town at the 11th annual Windaba conference of the South African Wind Energy Association.
